What's a fair night shift differential in 2026? Trying to benchmark.
I've seen anywhere from $0.75/hr to $4/hr depending on industry and region. For those working overnights right now — what's your differential, what industry, and roughly what part of the country? Trying to figure out if I'm underpaid before my review. Ballpark is fine, no need to dox yourself.
Healthcare, Midwest, $4.25/hr night diff plus weekend bump. Hospitals tend to pay the most for nights.
Warehouse, Southeast, $2.75/hr after I negotiated. Started at $1.50.
Hospitality night audit, Southwest, only $1.50/hr — hospitality lags badly on this.
Data center NOC, Texas, ~10% base uplift for nights rather than a flat rate. Worth asking for % vs flat.
