Brix Tech Solutions ("we", "us", "our") operates We The Owl at wetheowl.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our site.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.

Profile information: For job seekers, phone number, city, state, bio, resume, and community profile details such as username, avatar, night shift industry, job title, and years of night shift experience. For employers, company name, website, industry, and contact details.

Application data: Information submitted when applying to jobs, including cover letters.

Community content: Posts, questions, comments, upvotes, and Working Tonight checkins you choose to submit.

Payment information: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.

Usage data: Pages visited, search queries, and interactions with the site.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the job board and community services
To match job seekers with relevant job listings via email alerts and a weekly summary
To notify employers of new applicants
To notify users when someone replies to their community posts or comments
To process payments for employer subscriptions
To communicate service updates and important notices
To improve the Site and user experience

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following cases:

With employers: When you apply to a job, your name, email, and cover letter are shared with that employer.
Publicly, through the community board: See Section 5 below.
Service providers: We use Supabase (database and auth), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email delivery). Each has their own privacy policies.
Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Public Community Content

Some information is public by design. This includes your community username, city, industry, job title, years of experience, bio, and any posts, comments, or Working Tonight checkins you submit. This content is visible to anyone who visits the Site, including visitors who are not logged in, and it may be indexed by search engines.

Public community content is not covered by the confidentiality that applies to your account information or job applications. Do not include anything in a community post or profile field that you do not want to be public.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security. Resumes are stored in private cloud storage and are only accessible via temporary signed URLs. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS).

7. Email Communications

By creating an account, you may receive emails tied to your account activity: job alert notifications, application confirmations, a weekly summary of new night shift jobs, and notifications when someone replies to your community posts or comments. You can manage your job alerts at any time from your account, and you can unsubscribe from the weekly job summary or community reply notifications using the link included in those emails or from your profile page. We do not send third party advertising.

8. Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@wetheowl.com. You may also delete your account directly from your profile page. Deleting a community post or comment removes it from public view, though replies made to it before deletion may still reference it.

9. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication purposes only. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

We The Owl is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the Site.
